Hello
Driving to the hospital tonight about half a mile up the road when I dedicated again the 'indicator warning light'
cane on warning me of a 'life rear indicator problem. As I continued my journey and being careful re
left turns the green arrow in the car for the indicator was flashing at twice the speed and a lot louder
ticking noise.

I got to the car park and got out had a look all indicators were fine inc Hazard lights etc.
About an hour later I went back to the car and started it no warning light and the indicators all working fine as was the
green arrow inside the car.

Was it just a glitch?
When I got home I started and stopped the engine several times but no warning light

(At the hospital car park as I scrolled through the car's menu I noted a
tyre warning message but that as well is no longer there - tyres are all at a good pressure)

I have less all round I thing - gle/2016 car 24k on the clock had from new. Thanks

A code will be logged that needs to be read. They don't often fix themselves....

thank you - I've not started the car today but going out a bit later and will see what happens.

Aren't indicators supposed to be intermittent!! 😄

I drove the car several times yesterday and once today, so far, not happened again,

Ah, the joys of self-mending Mercs! I've had similar with headlights on my previous E-class cars.

Now you mention it, it is still good.👍

Update. The rear left light still works but as I went to the back of the car today to clean rear lights (car not been washed for months) I noted water ingress ie lots of moisture top and bottom and rear light on the right side 100% dry.

I will look up a second-hand unit or better still take it out, dry it and put sealant on it as light cover does not appear to be damaged.
Any ideas/suggestions, please?

I've had an almost identical issue in the last week (Have a thread running on here titled DRL and indicator issue). I had all sorts of codes stored, clearing them didn't solve it. Car has been parked up for a week in a multi storey car park and when i returned from my trip the problem has gone away. I'd also noticed just before the issue that i had quite a bit of condensation in the headlights (C43 S205). So i'm thinking that it's moisture related and drying out has solved (for now).
So i think your plan to stop more moisture getting inside is a good idea before forking out for new parts.

Blow it out with hairdryer then keep an eye on it

To be clear, it is the rear left, main tail light, the one on the rear wing and not the tailgate.
ATM, it is working fine.
I've looked but can see only two nuts not the third. I guess I will also need a special tool as the small nut is on a bolt that protrudes by about one ince/25mm.

Is there anyone that can confirm if the above light has a gasket and do I have to remove the trim ie other than the access panel on the left side of the car that is about 10/11 inches square?

(I've seen one video made in idndia, not too clear but they are replacing the rear tail light - any others - gasket required and if so, is would just a gasket do the trick once I've dried out the light?

Many thanks again.
