Just bought a C63 AMG and looking to get a couple of things looked over. Having dealt with MB Leeds (Stratstone) in the past, I would not want to give them any of my money if I could avoid it and would rather go to a good indie!

I work in Leeds and live in Huddersfield. I have searched older threads and found German Auto Care (Pudsey) and Delaceys (Brighouse) recommended.

Any 1st hand experience with the above or any other recommendations?

I was going to book my E55K into Leeds mercedes.

Can you share your experience?

To be fair, it was the sales team when I went to check out a few cars. It's a surprise they sell anything but maybe that's what monopoly does to you!

Mercedes Huddersfield were fine when my car developed a fault with the pan roof- They changed the whole thing without question.

On a side note, my service is due on Monday so I've booked the car with Broadley and Holmes in Huddersfield - Service B1 which they're doing for £201.60 inc VAT - Merc wanted £438. Ill comment further once its done

Just an update. B1 service carried out at Broadley and Holmes todayat 60k miles. All went fine. No issues whatsoever and genuine parts used. Digital service book also updated. They used to be ex Merc technicians. Oh and provided me with a functional C200 Kompressor W203 all included so very pleased

Just bought an E class and in the same boat. Let us know if you use Delaceys and how your experience was. Thanks!

German Autocare are in Leeds, not dealt with them personally. I would avoid MercSpec in skipton from a friends dealings and how they were when I called them.

Merc Harrogate were decent with me, did a service and airbag recall on mine with no issues, and didn’t wash the car as I asked

I find the Huddersfield main dealers ok for service.
They do a collection service which is very convenient.

Well Delacey's are more expensive than Broadley and Holmes and I dont think I could have got better service so don't know whether I would try them to be honest

I don't have enough posts to PM you yet but is there any chance you could give me an idea on MercSpec please as they're one of the local specialists I've been thinking of using.

I'm actually off to Merc Harrogate on Wednesday for some work to be done (health check etc after recently buying the car) but was looking at the two garages (dealer and indy) in Skipton.

In the past I used to use Forge Garage near Bolton Abbey when I had my VW and they look after German cars and were great - I can't fault anything they ever did for me.

Hi buddy, Merc Harrogate did my last service and were pretty decent aside from trying to sell me a tyre I didn’t need, they didn’t was the car as I strictly requested.

As for MercSpec, well I once called them to ask years ago about some coding for my rear lights, they were unhelpful in which version of star they had(Xentry DAS developer add on is required for coding) but when I asked this their reply 3 times was ‘we have star pal’, and said they wouldn’t know if they could do the coding without charging me an hours labour to check.
A friend also had a gearbox on a CLS done by them which they outsourced to a local gearbox place, gearbox place said new torque converter was strictly recommended and box wouldn’t be warrantied without...MS failed to pass consult my friend regarding this and had the box done without the torque converter which then failed after a few hundred miles...at which point they wouldn’t accept any responsibility and referred him to the gearbox specialist who luckily helped out...I certainly won’t be in a hurry to use them.

Thank-you for that - it's actually quite surprising how many local indies around this way are running old versions of Star / Xentry when I've asked a similar question.

Quite a few are using SDConnect C4 who responded with that and some just didn't respond at all.

So far I've found asking if they have diags that can support DoIP reveals which ones are on older systems (I wouldn't be surprised if some of them use the same clones available from eBay).

I ended up buying my own in the end, went for a Vxdiag C6 but so far it's only ever passed the DoIP test once - they seem to be actively updating the drivers so hopefully it will get sorted out as well. For general Xentry stuff it's been great.

No problem mate, and I will bare that in mind if I ever need any diagnostics or coding ;)

Another vote for merc Harrogate.

They’ve been awesome every time I’ve used them, even offered to lend me a car over the bank holiday weekend when I had an issue even though the car was out of warranty.

Also agree with op’s experience of mercedes Leeds!
