Vito 109
Afternoon,

new member here having found the forum whilst researching a problem.
I have an 08 Vito 109 which would appear to be leaking from one or more injectors. I’ve seen that this is a common issue with Merc diesels and want to get it fixed properly.
Can anyone recommend a specialist in the south Oxfordshire area that I could go to

thanks

Is it covered in black tar mess?
Why not do the job yourself.... Simple washer and bolt and lots of care , plenty diys here just search Black death

I’d like to try it myself but I can be pretty hamfisted and if stuff is stuck I don’t fancy my chances.
Depending on cost I’d rather just pay someone

In theory the job should not cost more than 100 quid all in... but I was quoted anywhere up to 400 pounds, so went and did it myself.

You can save some money by cleaning the black death mess yourself.

i think I’ll start by cleaning it up and seeing which one/ones are leaking. If it’s the front I’ll give it a bash if it’s the back I’ll probably wimp out and pay someone else to do it

So there’s loads of black gunk on top of the engine but can’t see which injector is leaking.
Videos on YouTube seem to be very obvious where the leak is but no such luck.
The dirtiest point seems to be the back most injector wouldn’t you just know it so I’m taking that as the most likely leak

Clean everything....some people use Mr muscle and leave it to soak and it works good.
One all the black mess is gone , then turn the car engine on , then spray some carb cleaner around the plug well.... You should see it bubble where the leak is
