I don't think they can be done in situ? Nozzle would need to checked.

It was on this forum someone suggested a garage that clean them on situ, but can’t find the post..

What exactly is the problem?

Rough loud idling, engine is shaking, less power it obvious that idling on 3 cylinders only...have been using supermarket diesel, and fuel filter need changing that might have clogged the injector..

You can get the injectors tested via STAR to see if they are in tolerance. This way you can decide if you want to refurbish them all or just the faulty ones as it can cost a bit. I recently emailed a Bosch service centre and I was quoted £105 +VAT per injector on an exchange basis as it is quicker turn around. Their initial test was around £25 each. There are cheaper places out there though

I know ,don’t have to rubbed in,it’s painful as it is...[emoji3]

I’m only using VPOWER diesel now, it’s not worth the faff with injectors clogged! At least you know to avoid it now!!

What model of MB is it?? I know a place in Birmingham who can do the injectors but you need to ship them to them...

If you're going to clean them in the car, just run a bottle of tectron through the tank and they'll be cleaned about as well as you can do it with them in place. To do it properly, you'll need to get them cleaned and flow tested and preferably replace the o-rings and the pintle caps while you're at it. I bought this machine to do mine as I have enough cars to justify the outlay.

Worth checking the cost of a new injectors. They are mass produced and cheap these days. £40-50/ea. Might not be worth the hassle.

EDIT: You did say diesel... no idea how much they are, sorry. My prices are for petrol injectors.

Reluctant to change them as the retaining bolt will strip the thread in the head..

Buy one for £100 to clean them , but you need a service station to set them up and test them out .And i find it expensive just to clean them .I would replace them first .I am then told to purchase 2 extra due to faulty injectors.

It will be expensive exercise, considering scraping the car now as would be uneconomical to repair..

One of the best Mercedes ever built

A friend got one and needs a lot of work on the rear shocks and wiring loom and other bits and pieces, but engine starts with 1/4 turn and sounds sweet-you can count the cycle each cylinder does..
