Hi Lads
futher to my other thread on Squealing you can see the problem after new propshaft fitted engine management light on.
So to investigate "No1 cylinder not performing" I want to check it f its getting any signals from ecu.

Is there a way to get to the injector wiring to test without taking of all the gubbings to reach the actual injector connector also anyone know the wiring set up of the socket?
I expect the body of the injector is the earth, one wire is inputing the signal and the other returns (Stop) to tell ecu its completed the fuel injection then it starts over again.
This is just my thinking of the way it works- on- off, on -off and so on
thanks in advance

UPDATE!
I got some prices for rec injector from £108 to £100+vat.
so had better have a look whipped air filter and cover of to fuel injectors - Black death more on that later
so had to find out is it a dead injector or broken wire (No signal to No1 cylinder) so
  1. Starterd engine bbut hand over each injector No4 blowing but not heavily cant see it on feel slight pressure.
  2. O/K with engine off I was ready to do electricilal tests on injectore and wiring.
  3. At No1 I slightly touched the connector and it moved It could see yeelow showing through!
  4. So pushed it back in until properly connected and started the engine.
  5. Started up fine running sweet as a nut well for a diesel- so 3 things happing today my sons birthday:thumb:, Vito gods looked down upon me:thumb: and the US presidentialelection .
So now to the black death have 2 photos its not that heavy infact look like they have been painted black it appears heaverier towords no 4 at the back but not what I expected

So happy bunny will need to clean it up before it gets to bad

PS got ot my other thread some usefull information for all cars not only vito

Hi there!
I done this job twice, first on my 2000 A class one of the bots was snapped and the leak was pretty bad, second, this spring on my w212,one of the injectors was leaking.
Is not to difficult to do the job,i removed all the injectors, cleaned the beds, was a bit of deposit inside, replaced the copper seals.
I left the tips of the injectors over night in the carburator cleaner, brush them softly ,to be honest after my car performance was a shocker, fuel consumption was around 62pmg.
I believe i got some pictures if you still need help.

After cleaning and replacing the crankcase seal.

As an exercise I phoned mercedes to get a price to fit new copper washers £170 * Vat and even the would not give a price as the say we would need to see what also mighgt need replaced so inc vat £816 plus what ever they wanted to stick on for cleaning out the carbon etc etc.
A chap had his Vito done at Bellshill Autos for £285 think no BD. So stuck mine in and expected it to be more. It came out at £550 inc Vat my happy with that photos show the worh they use an acid it would have been ready same day but storm bert hit, will go back in and wrap some wires.
But van good to go.
