hi, i have just had mine done in the garage , not a mercedes ! he removed the starter motor as well he tells me took 6 hours in all . never replaced the flaps just did the short cut put bolts in the air flap holes ! , now goes better than before and better fuel economy , i am in spain ! cost me 260€ in all but a different car now !!

I had to remove the thermostat housing (on my 270cdi) to allow room for the manifold to come out..........also, there is a supporting bracket below the manifold that you need to unbolt, remove the n/s plastic inner wing liner to access it.

edit......... it took me 6 hours to remove and refit the manifold

As panason1c but l have a c270cdi W203 so might not be the same on a 220cdi.
