Can anyone give some more help. I have tried uploading to my website but not really having any luck. Is there an easy way?

Thanks
Ian

Have you managed to upload anything at all?

If you think you have uploaded a picture, post the address you think it's at, and then perhaps we can help from there.

ie http://www.........

If you have not managed to upload, have you got an FTP program yet (needed to upload the picture file) ?

Graham
I have downloaded FTP Exp. I manage to upload to website but it doesn t register on the quote for the website. I am bugg_red if I can find them on my website. I am with freenetname and don t know
Here's their instructions:

What are the limitations of the webspace?
20 MB of free webspace is allocated to each freenetname dialup account. Once you have registered your domain name the URL www.my-domain.co.uk will become an alias for your free webspace. Thus only one area of free webspace is used, but it can be accessed through two URLs.

To upload data to your free webspace, you will need to:

dial into freenetname using your username and password.
FTP to www.users.freenetname.co.uk and upload your files.
You can view your files using your browser at http://www.users.freenetname.co.uk/~username, or see the same files at http://www.my-domain.co.uk/.
You will only be able to upload new information on to your free webspace via FTP when you are dialed into freenetname. Of course, the web pages that you upload will be accessible throughout the Internet.

HELP I am drowning.

Thanks Again
Ian

Thanks Guy I did.
The problems seems to be I can t find them in Explorer.

Thanks
Ian

OK.

If you think you FTP upload has been sucessfull try typing into your browser address bar:

www.users.freenetname.co.uk/~rirhillsname/carpic.jpg

Obviously putting the correct details where required!

Remeber this is likely to be case sensitive and you wont be allowed any filenames with spaces.

If this shows your picture, post back and we can go from here. Either way let us know.

What address have you uploaded to then?

Post the address where you just see an empty folder.

Maybe your pic file is too small to affect your quota.

EDIT: Don't worry just seen your log. Let me try and figure.

Is that the exact file name "My car.bmp"

Rename the file without the space and try to upload. The filesystem on the host servers will more likely than not, not accept filenames with spaces.

I have tried again with no spaces.

Thanks
Ian

I will go and try that. Are you with Freenetname?

Thanks for the trying anyway. Will let you know how I get on.

I am not with freenetname, no.

I would persist with the http://www.users.freenetname.co.uk/~rirhill/ address.

I think the freenetname deal also got you your domain name www.rowland-hill.co.uk but don't let that confuse this issue. Your webspace hosting is with freenetname and your domain will only foward to that address.

Just as another example, this is what I've had to do to get my 3 pics at the bottom.

(Remove dots in first tag to view pictures)

Hope that helps.

Oh, I didn't expect that to happen:confused:

Well I tried.
