Instrument Cluster mod R129/W140

Decided to facelfit the instrumeter cluster on my SL. Parts required are 2 new facelift warning indicator strips and chrome rings. Very happy with the results!
In the process of doing the same with my S Class.

Love the cluster.
I'm lucky to have the chrome rings already - they're a very nice touch.

Is it easy to adapt the black dials to white ones (Saw some a while back on ebay)?
And if that is possible how about getting blue led illuminations?

PS I want those xenons, they're great with the clear indicators.

This is a post 1996 model. Its a post 99 model when these little things are standard, but you try finding a SL600 for under £30k on 1999 onwards!

Looks great, the new strips really finish it off and make the interior look far less dated. Didn't realise you could just replace the strips. Are they available separatley or did you have to hack a newer cluster?

Yeah I noticed that too, the steering wheel & dash changed colour too! I think the first pic is just an example image of another SL and the other two are actually KLP's

Ah sorry - thought as you changed your indicators they were the orange ones on pre '96 cars.

A standard SL600 costs £103k. Mine cost £127k due to extras such as AMG kit and wheels, and t be honest i like the colour!

£24k for a bodykit and wheels? Yikes! I take it you got more than just that? Personally I'd take the updated version - looks a bargain - but then I would say that

this V12 looks lovely ...

some 18" AMG alloys would make it look fabulous.

Plus, it's 'cheap' for the price.

It (this same car) was on sale for £30k in Jan this year. I remember spotting it on the net.

Its the same car, previous advertised at £35k, then 30k and now 25k.

Doesn't really look anything special and i've had a silver SL before so needed a different colour. I always put 18 inch wheels on afterwards so finding a car with everything done as standard was a plus point for me. Anyway my car cost me alot less than £25k and i got a very good px done on my E55.
