Instrument panel not illuminated

OK I had a new main battery fitted last Monday and have only used the car today 6 days later). all working as normal, dropped into my garage to fuel up when I returned to the car and started the engine no instrument lights. External lights working, does anyone know what’s happened? Have I somehow switched off the instrument panel lights?

You could have turned them down from the lights control wheel by the head lights switch.

Tried rotating that wheel it doesn’t have any affect at all!

Check that the sunlight sensor on the dash is not covered?

OK everyone, my passengers fault having interrogated the grandchildren one of them did turn the wheel that controls the light. I didn’t know the engine needed to be running to adjust it. Thanks anyway for your rapid reactions
