Hello
Just discovered the dash instruments on my 123 series are non illuminated, bulbs and fuses are all good, any suggestions?
thanks

Try turning the dimmer switch back and forth a few times,if you don't know which is the dimmer switch it doubles up as the odeometer reset.

Try hitting the top of the dash, could be a loose connection...

Well, it worked on my Mondeo!

As bear says, its almost always te dimmer switch...it rusts up..play with it, it should come back. If not youll have to take the clock cluster out, take the dimmer switch off the back and drown it in WD40...

use a proper contact cleaner available from Maplins or other electrical specialist not WD40.

played with dimmer but doesnt want to play, looks fine, no rust, does that control the heater illumination also as that isnt working either?

maybe ill leave it, good excuse for speeding,

forgot, I have an ageing diesel!

yes it controls all the interior dash lights...Its a square white unit on the back of the cluster....

By the way, dont think its 80 quid as it says in the link, i remember it being about 30 quid.. If you get a working one from a scrap yard, will cost you next to nothing...

Jay

got another dimmer from scappers, all is well!
