I bought my ML270 three days ago, I informed my insurance company LV, of this and they asked for a further £300 pound, this would take my premium on to £700, and that's not even for a full year. The vehicle I was swopping my NCB from was a Mitsubishi L200, not exactly a high performance car :D. So as you would I did a search for insurance, I received a quote for £433 from another company, £150 excess, courtesy car, everything you would expect. I have taken this insurance, what a surprise.

My point is as you all probably know anyway, don't accept the first quote, or even the 2nd or 3rd, search. Insurance Companies are a bunch of thieves. ;)

I think you may have received what is known as a "go away quote" Just means that having assessed you, your location and the vehicle ---its business they don't really want--- unless to make an obscene policy profit from. Hence the quote ---which had the requisite effect.
