Insurance due soon. "Magic Sky" question

My insurance is due end of the month and I'm getting quotes. My car (2015 SL400) has a "Magic Sky" panoramic glass roof (factory fitted as option when new) and I'm finding it difficult to know if this would be covered in the event of it being broken due to vandalism or something accidentally dropping on it. All of the online quote companies don't have an option to ask this question and previous quotes from insurance agents you can actually talk to were much higher than the comparison sites.

Has anyone got one of these fitted and can give me some advice please? Cheers.

As I read the OP - I was thinking just that - always get an email confirming any chat/agreement

IIRC - up until a few years ago, Aviva did cover the pan roof on our car but there was an excess even though I have a fully comp insurance

Always ask and get it in writing as IIRC some of the other majors did not cover pano roof or IIRC covered under "glass" and often this carrys an excess.

And they state:

Yes, LV= car insurance covers all glass in your car under windscreen cover. You can find your windscreen excess in your policy documents. If you don't use one of our recommended repairers, you'll need to pay an additional excess if your glass needs to be replaced.

That would suggest that your Magic Sky roof would be covered against glass breakage.

I have the glass roof in my Honda CR-V and a few companies wouldn't insure it, mine did without any bother at all ( Admiral ) apparently it is a very expensive replacement but all the Honda 'EX' range of CR-V's have this glass roof as standard.

First time i had ever come across this issue.
