I'm having a little difficulty with getting a good price on insurance for a second car.

I have a Golf which is costing me about £200 to insure, full no claims bonus.

Of course I can't use the NCB on two cars, so I'm being quoted around £600+ for the E class.

Hmmm, what should I do? Just transfer the Golf insurance to the E class? Try and swap around which is insured with the NCB?

My insurer at the moment doesn't support multi car policies.

Many insurers will mirror NCD onto additional policies - worth phoning around .

I've just tried Aviva and they will only mirror if my Golf was to be insured with them.

Yea that’s how I do mine, they insure all my cars and mirror the no claims on them.

I might have to just stomach the ridiculous cost for now until the Golf goes or I can leave insurers and go for a combined policy when situations permit.

We have both cars with Admiral now (my L200 is still with Aviva). E Cab is £214 for the year. SLK had mirrored discount with Aviva & they supplied a NCD Entitlement letter when we left them for "10 or more years". So with Admiral the SLK is now £156 for the year.
Will be playing off Admiral against Aviva at next renewal time.
