Just took my E320 cdi WDB211 for servicing and MOT to my dealership, got a call back saying all done but MOT failed due to excessive smoke from exhaust. ( did not have that problem before). Probable fault with the intercooler turbo as it appears to have a leak.. due to accidental damage.. although the grill is intact ! I was told it could be due to driving into a flood ?
Will need to change intercooler and also possibly the fuel injector... cost £1400.
Got a call today, saying also probable damage to cylinder 6 ! Will need to take the engine down to have a look, better to call your insurance!
Cars done only 25k, full MBSH, no accidents or issues. Is it possible for the intercooler to have accidental damage without me knowing about it ? and why can it not be wear and tear ? in which MB should cover it under warranty ?
Any advice ?
