i have a leak from the drivers side intercooler pipe on my 2011 e class 250 CDI. Obvious signs of oil running down in from the top....

can anyone clarify if a new pipe , part 60 on the image below) comes with the replacement seals (parts 70 and 80 on the OM651 pic below) or if I would need to order these at the same time?

Also as a diy job any advice would be great.

Cheers in advance

The pipes on the E350 (OM642) came with the seals, for the price you’d expect them to!!!

One of the pipes on the OM642 is significantly more expensive than the other - something like £150 if I remember correctly. I bought a Gates OEM replacement but the quality was terrible - it looked like a used part or perhaps something that had been abused and tossed around a warehouse.

For that one I used silicone tape all around the pipe and then just changed the seals (available from MB)

The pipe coming out of the intercooler was much more reasonably priced, so I bought that from MB. Seals already inside the pipe.

But I’d get two new pipes if the price isn’t too high.

If they’re crazy money, I think Gates are supposed to be a good brand, perhaps I just had bad luck.
