Nice birthday present!
I saw a new SL500 on the road yesterday, 1st one I've seen, and it looked awesome.
Has the arrival of the new model made the older one slightly more afffordable? Or won't that happen until after the "summer"
In our camp - I've just ordered a Mini One for 1st September, and must confess to being quite excited!

You guys talk about the new SL, this it won't be, I'm looking for a 91-92 model, thats what I can afford so we'll see...

That new Mini Cooper is a great little car, you will really enjoy that....

Had a ride in a mate from works Ultima kit car...fastest thing I've ever been in....0 2 60 in 3.8 and all with your backside inches from the ground.

With the weight of a fag packet and a 400 brake Chevy 5.7 turning the wheels, it sounds the dogs knads and can out do most super cars and the only bike that it can't out perform but keep up with is a Fireblade....

The no plate is S400 BHP....

Look here www.shithotfast.com and read all about it!!!

Wheelie,

I think it's just been a quiet week.

Guy, there's a yellow BMW mini just round the corner from me and it looks like it's been fitted with either 18" or 19" wheels, looks totally awesome.

News here, I've just been told I've got to work in Spain for 4 weeks starting from the 15, so I'm going to miss the next UK GTG major bummer.

I just got the summer 2002 issue of Mercedes from MB lots of good articles including one about how their headlamp design has evolved over the last ten years or so. I was beginning to think MB had forgotten I had existed because it seemed like ages since I received my last issue.

if it is 0-60 in 3.8 a lot of bikes can out do it, and probably do better top end also...But comparing bikes to cars is silly, there is no competition!!

This is very true, especially considering my lowly Yamaha XJ600N can outpull a Porsche Boxter S from the traffic lights!

Wheelie, a director (lady) at my company has a 'T' plate 280SL with 26k miles on it in plum red with grey leather. I have seen it and it is superb. She will take around £26k i suspect.

I was tempted for my wife but my CLK430 got the nod and she is left with the Toyota Picnic

She does drive the CLK as well from time to time

I rejected 22 cars by email, a further 16 by phone calls and looked at 17 300/500 sl's in the last 2 weeks before buying mine less than 2 miles from where I work !

There are a lot of "nice" cars out there with stories to them
After 500 miles and lots of "mutton dressed as lamb" I have a really nice late 92 50k miles silver 300SL.
I will add that most of the nice cars/low milage FSH at the top end of my budget were sold within a day or so of advertising (wrong time of year to buy one I think) and of the cars that remained only 2 were worth buying.

Just my observations

Mark
