Replica or original? My guess is that it is a replica.

It states it's a replica

Bit light on power. Do you reckon a re-map would fix that?

Cheers,

Gaz

I notice the word "Replica" is used just once. The seller quotes year of registration as 1/5/1886 ?? and the ad is full of historial information, which in my mind is designed to have you thinking it is something it is not. There is no mention of exactly when it was built or by whom, to give the builder some recognition for his workmanship. it is not even a restoration. A lot of money for someones long time hobby creating the replica.
Do I like it ? No.

I counted three times...??

It is a nice thing to have, I had it in the back of my mind the Classics Center in Germany made these, or some such official Daimler entity, I may be wrong though...

It would incur the T Charge in London so, unfortunately, I'm out.

apparently, they made by apprentices as part of there course in stuttgart, there are a few about around the world, the original is no more

Why is he asking £42,300 when you could have built one for ( $26,337 in 2016)

^^ Just like you can order a brand new 280 SL Pagoda with your choice of audio and interior and 'any colour you like' from Hemmels, ready to drive away in 32 weeks. Get your cheque book out and there is practically no limit.
