Hi there,

I am dutch and i am the owner of a mercedes W201 (190 2.0)
The case is that the front seat (driver) is very bad. But my passenger seat is pretty much OK
Is it possible to change the passenger seat in to your driver seat and vice versa?
And if that is the case can we change/swap those seats?

Thanks

Ian Staley

If your 190 is LHD it would make more sense to find a passenger seat from a UK RHD car & transplant that into your car. As ianstaley said, you won't have to contend with things being on the wrong side. Just about any UK passenger seat will have very little wear compared to the driver's side.

Do you need both the backrest & squab? What colour & material is your driver's seat?

Hey NW wots the interior you got, i have an estate but left hooker as you may have guesd from my reply in dutch, but i would a leather one any ideas?

Only the runners which attach to the floor are 'handed' ( other than that the backrest of the left seat may have a hole in the side for a centre armrest ) the seats themselves can be swapped over .

As above , though , the passenger seat from a RHD car will make a good replacement for the drivers seat on a LHD car - just bear in mind that you may still need to swap runners as passenger seats in 190's usually don't have height adjustment while the driver's side ones usually do .

Seats?

I would love to get a leather interior to my car, it's worth about £1500 on the market I think, but seeing as I bought 11 years ago and seeing how the motor is perfect and little or no rust underneath or surface(except self inflicted) I intend to keep her for another 11 years. (hopefully) so a bit of a tart up has to be cheaper than a new car. Anyway I like my old girl, she's like me OLD :D but still good and at least shes still running. In all the 11 years (12 this year) she hasn't cost me much.

1 new MAF.
2 sets of tyres.
2 sets of Discs. Now buying my third.
1 rear window wiper motor.
1 Cat causse I imported here and the mot said it was gone (disn't beleive it)
4 sets of Pads Fr and Rer.
and the normal consumables.

She has done in exces of 255000 Kilometers, she uses on my milage now of about 8-10000 a year and this is Honest 1-2 pints of oil.
she will still pull red line without hesitation and top 200 + klics per hour.
so touch wood she will outlast me. I'm 59 now.

'Hi Cbeex, actually are not stolen verwiselbaar, but it depends how the seats affstellen. I think the back button on the inner side of the chair so it is logical thinking back to the side door next to the B post and put it impossible to set without opening the door. He could be in principle as the bottom is actually a mirror image so long as you fall from the chair glie mechanisem I think it can?? vriendleike with greetings. Ian Staley'
