I have had my 2006 SLK for just 1 week and so far it is great, much better than the old version SLK 230 I had, well gearbox and roof works fine so far!

Anyway, car doesnt appear to have the special light pack as there are no lights in the doors but there are map reading lights in the rear view mirror. Anyway, when I click manual switch for the interior light, then the light comes on BUT when I open the doors or unlock the car, the light doesnt come on automatically. I have manually pressed the switch on the door jam but doesnt make a difference. Any thoughts?

I guess the system knows the door is open as the windows drop a couple of mm. Is there another fuse maybe for the automatic part of the interior light?

I did change the setting in the menu to have the delayed lights on as well. There isnt a sensor that says dont switch on when it is light is there?

Yes, the lights will not come on in daylight.

Also make sure if you have a 3 position switch it is set for auto on. It's the centre position on my 203

Cheers for that, I will have to wait till its dark to try that! I only have a 2 position switch, manual says depressed for no auto lights and flush with other buttons for auto lights.

Do you have an Auto position for the headlights? This would confirm a light sensor is present

Yes, there is the option for that, so I guess that means I have the sensor then?

It does :)
