Interior lights not working when door opened

My interior lights have stopped working, when i open the door they dont work but they work when buttons are pressed inside to constant also reading lights work.

For your 2001 W203?

The rocker switch near your RVM needs to stay in the middle setting ie flat and the interior lights may not come on during daylight anyway

This has caught out a few of us !

The symbols by the switch dont show a center position. Also the switch has very small movement between the 3 positions.

As RS says - middle position will sort it.

I have tried that they still dont work.They work with the buttons.

Do they work when you open another door? Could be the switch in the driver's door that is faulty.

yes i tried at night and also it doesnt work with any doors.

I have had exactly the same fault appear on my W220 yesterday too

have tried all positions

each light can be switched on individually but none coming on with door opening
