Interior Mirror, A209 convertible.

Hi all, this is a bit weird, my interior auto dip mirror, has gone into reverse, in ordinary daylight, it darkens, if I cover the sensor, it returns to normal, if I move it to the left, it also returns to normal, likewise in reverse gear. Any thoughts guys ? There are a couple of screws underneath, is it worth undoing them and looking for broken wires etc ?

Auto Dimming Mirrors dark in daylight

Looks like you would need to replace it, or repair if you are handy with a soldering iron.
