Interior Storage boxes remain open [CLA]

Hi guys,


i need your help. THis is CLA, 2014. THos boxes below opened and remained open, they cannot be closed. SOmeone knows if i can fix it myself?

Can someone give me some simple instructions how to open and see the mechanism of those boxes?

Also what is the naming of this to search for any new mechanisms online?


Kindly help me - i can't find someone to fix this and i dont want to spend hundreds of euros to mercedes garage...

I would guess at some point they have been abused/mistreated and the mechanism is broken, or have never been cleaned and are stuck with dirt etc.
First thing I would try is spray them with WD40 or something and gently try to move them.

If that doesn't work, you'd need to try and remove them to see why they won't move.

actually they move they just don't remain on the closed position. the question is how to open it and reach this mechanism and see how it works to see if i can fix it or i need to replace it..
