I'm due to take delivery of my new CLK next month, therefore too late to change the factory order.

The more I see pictures of the aluminium trim, the more I hate it. I wish now that I had gone for the black ash wood trim.

Does anyone if this can be retrofitted and where would be the best place apart from the dealership.

It's very expensive! I looked in to it for a slightly earlier W209 CLK320 and the costs of the parts was around £1,200!
Only about two hours work to fit though.

might be cheaper to sell the car on delivery - you should get your money back if the waiting list - there order another with the trim you prefer

Yes but that's in addition to the existing trim, it's not like they ship them with huge gaps in the interior or the other trim in a bag in the boot in case you wanted to sell it on ebay or something ;)

Decided to stick with the aluminium trim doesn't look too bad. Saw it on a 2006 model at the local dealership. The car I am due to take delivery of has cappucino leather interior and obsidian black.
