intermittant flickering of red light with down arrow

My 1996 s500 has a ping/tick every 3.5 seconds from the instrument cluster. On ocassion a red idiot light just below and to the right of the speedometer flickers on for an instatn to 2 seconds. The light has a down pointing arrow. There is a louder ping when it illuminates. The owner's manual does not show this light as a possibility. Thanks

Problem solved! It is of interest that these idiot lights are not shown or mentioned in the owners manual. They are not in all 1996 s500?- I guess?? The problem resolved when i unloaded the trunk. They apparently have to do with a hydrolic leveling?! system that maybe all cars don't have!? Maybe all cars don't have the lights. oh well the resevoir is inside the left fender. It does not say what the specs are so i'll have to ask if anyone knows? Thanks
