Not worried about it but curious as to what it is.

I've noticed a few times if the car has been driven earlier, when parked up every now and then there is a noise from under the bonnet. I guess it's some kind of motor but it sounds a bit like a dial-up modem. Lasts maybe 3 seconds and happens every minute or so.

Anyone know what the noise is? :dk:

No one?

Maybe she's talking to me.

Not really relevent to your issue but it reminded me of customer that contacted me once saying he thought he had a virus on his blackberry.

Given that if he really did have a Blackberry virus it would have probably made the news, I took a special interest in the case.

Long story short, it turned out that his blackberry was paired to his car (a BMW) and the car was using his Blackberry data to make a connection back the BMW in Germany to let BMW know the car was due a service.

So after I'd worked out what was going on I called the guy back and asked him if he drove a BMW ... and was his service light on?

He was absolutely stunned to learn that I'd worked this out from the BES server log files.

What engine do you have?

It's normal. They do tend to buzz a bit.

Thanks BlackC55. Do you know what magic it's doing?
