Hi All,
Looking to see if anybody has had any experience with a similar issue.

I have a GLE 250d, recently after driving for around 45 minutes or so the car seems to loose almost all its power and struggles to Rev past 2500revs. Seems as though it is waiting for the turbo to kick in but never does.
Once I get to my destination and on the return journey the car will drive fine until about the same time period. I have no Engine Management Lights on the dash and I’m a bit puzzled to what’s going on. Is it potentially a PDF issue ?

any help much appreciated

Hi there, sorry to hear you are having problems. Sounds like your car is going into limp mode. This can be caused by many things and will not always trigger a warning light. Getting the error codes stored by the car systems read is the best way to identify the problem area. The MB system is called Star. Dealers have these although charge a lot. A specialist independent MB garage will have Star too and will be cheaper and probably give you a more detailed diagnosis.

I experienced exactly the same behaviour with an 2009 E220 (W211). I reckon the most obvious diagnosis - the correct one in my case - is a faulty auto transmission electronic module. This incorporates transmission's rpm sensors. When I had the repair carried out in 2016 by an indy the part costsed is £218.53 + vat. I can't recall the labour cost, but the transmission fluid had to be drained and replaced. Btw, the problem is potentially dangerous. The failure to accelerate happened to me when I was executing a right turn. I picked my moment to complete the move with oncoming traffic sufficiently far away.... then limp move kicked in and I got clear by a whisker.

Sounds like it could be a split boost pipe to me. fairly common on the 250D engine, is it the OM651 engine in this model?
Mine went and it didn't throw an engine code for ages. but had similar symptoms. I would get it to a merc specialist with star diagnostics and have them check it out properly.

You need to start with plugging the car into diagnostics and pending codes. All of the above are common problems with the 250 (651) engine and I also had a problem with mine but the fault on mine was the exhaust back pressure sensor. If you pull over and restart the car the fault should go away for a while but will leave a stored fault code in pending faults on a diagnostic computer so you can get it that way. Both the exhaust and DPF pressure sensors are known problems with this engine and are not bank braking to replace.
