And all of this has damaged you or anyone you know how?

I expect (although I can't be bothered because it's just not that important) it would be as easy to find equal quotes from men about women. In 2013 86 women in the UK were killed by their husband, boyfriend or ex partner as against 17 men killed by women. Actions seem a little more significant than words.

Look on the bright side at least they are unlikely to add to the gene pool and will probably die out as a species.

That's true ;)

Their words and ideas live on though.

Looking back through history, one can find historical evidence showing where some of these ideas came from:

“Gramsci hated marriage and the family, the very founding blocks of a civilized society. To him, marriage was a plot, a conspiracy… to perpetuate an evil system that oppressed women and children. It was a dangerous institution, characterized by violence and exploitation, the forerunner of fascism and tyranny. Patriarchy served as the main target of the cultural Marxists. They strove to feminize the family..."

My Maxim : Never believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see. You won't go far wrong.

We know men abuse woman. We know men abuse men. What is less well known is that women abuse men both directly in the home, and indirectly using the methods that ItalianTuneUp has brought our attention to.

You on the other hand, for reasons that remain opaque, appear to be doing your best to filibuster that awareness by reminding us continually about subjects that are already very well covered in the media.

Yeah, Marxism - alive and kicking...

"In my own life, I don't have intercourse. That is my choice." -- Andrea Dworkin

And you choose to immerse your self in the views of a dozen or so (from a world population of billions) women. Choices, choices....

Yeah, Marxism - alive and kicking...

Not Marxism, cultural Marxism...the former failed, the latter didn't ;)

Anyway, the political flavour is not what's interesting here. The point is to show historical context to the subject being discussed.

Oh I see,You believe men are so unhappy and feeling so inadequate that it's words that are wounding them. In that case there is little hope for them. It could just be that the subjects that are well covered in the media are the important ones, like killing, mutilation, rape, assault by men on women. You seem to see some equivalence between the behaviours.

Don't you feel even the slightest bit silly?

That's it -feel wounded/insulted, don't for one moment consider your remarks, reach for the "he's being nasty to me" card.

The reasons for the (reported*) rise in male suicide are complex, they may be societal, they may be economic, they may be medical/dietary,they may be about the rise of equality, they may be all of these or indeed none, they may be unknowable.

But being lead down a blind alley by selective quotes from media,to seek "someone to blame" is both futile and misleading. How is the despair of a young man in Barnsley influenced by the reported remarks of an American female of whom he has never heard?

*reported
In this age information that was unknowable is now easily accessible. We cannot know the suicide rate accurately for say 50 or 100 years ago. Coroners made other verdicts to spare the family, they were not reported nationally, they were not correlated as they are today.
Men were understandably to discuss their difficulties given the masculine cultural expectations. That is not in any way to suggest we don't have a problem, any suicide of either gender is regrettable and any measures to help are to be welcomed

But please can't we get past the "dykes, "Lessies" "militant feminists" abuse? Are we still that childish? (not particularly directed at you)

To quote history is not abuse.

To be selective in your "evidence" of history is not only abusive but also totally dishonest. Then others join in in an attempt to be ever more biased (they think witty or clever) like 8 year olds in the playground saying "rude words". One of the things I find most distasteful about my gender is the way when 2 or more are gathered together the conversation so often descends to the lowest possible denominator as they outdo themselves in crudeness and childlike behaviour. Men are so often afraid to stand out,say "hold on,thats a nasty, crude untrue remark" for fear of disapproval.

However as usual the real questions are evaded. How do such remarks from "feminists" affect you or the man in Barnsley? How do words far away compare with bodily injury done to women on an almost daily basis? How do a small number of female assaulters compare with the massive number of male attackers? Why do so many men appear to be frightened of women and therefore join in this persistent denigration of them? Men,what is your problem?

Where'd you hear that?
Never believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.

;)

I don't know, its just something I've always known. Since you asked I Googled it, and apparently it was first noted in the 1300's and written of in the 1700's relating to a woman speaking to her friend, also a woman. Nothing new there then.
