Intresting c124 coupe

320 got same power like 300-24...
Never mind the engine, but seats are amazing....
Never try how comfortable they are but maybe that day will come.
Yes,is not worth 4 bags but looking good.

The Recaro electric leather seats will fetch a grand all day long, very rare now.

In what way is a 300-24 better? (Serious question in case I'm missing something obvious.)

320 has 217hp and is a little "flat" for my liking.

300-24 has 231hp and is a very rev happy engine, especially when coupled to a manual box like this car has.

All that car needs is a turbo technics twin turbo kit bolting on. Would have loads of fun in it!

And the rest since the chances of finding the in blue leather in good condition is none

The only thing stopping me from buying it is the manual box :o
I know the getrag is a lot of fun but it's not my driving style

I have got just the engine for that....a 320 Turbo Technics TT....that would be one seriously quick car with a manual gearbox!!

As above needs to be 24V and an auto - reason been is they they are really relaxed cruisers but they do fly when you put your foot down. I can't believe I only paid £1500 for my first one and it was a mint low miler !

May I ask why??

Because it's an old W124 coupe with 140k on the clock and lacking in full service history.

And fancy seats (showing bolster wear on the driver's seat at least) and incorrect alloy wheels won't change this.

Interesting thread so is the consensus that the 300-24v engine is the best to have?

My 92 plate 300TE has the straight six but it is a heavy car and therefore uses quite a lot of fuel IMHO.

If it's fairly decent and a manual (I think this is an overdrive box) is preferable it's definitely a car that's worth looking at. Bonus too if it is Sportline (have my doubts). Now, if the seats and the wheels are an issue for the next owner, it's simple to rectify that - sell them at a conservative £1500 and replace with standard factory items and be quids in.

The key point to this car is, it's a rare manual, thus the thread.

24 valver is a peach, if not to everybodies taste.

Its about a mile down the road from me, very tempting. If those seats were black, I would put them in my black W124!

Dye them?
