iOS 5.1

What you need to do it re jailbreak your phone, even if it says no signal, then you will be able to restore it though iTunes.

To unlock the phone there is a strong chance orange will do it for you as its older than 1 year. Vodafone did my iPhone 4 free of charge. Just ring customer services.

Pm me if you need any advice, I'm quite familiar with jailbreaking/unlocking.

Thing is i bought the phone off my cousin who upgraded to a 4S and doesnt have a receipt as it was contract phone.

I think ive tried everything ha, now ive got a Carrier SIM in it and it still says no signal when i tether boot it.
Keeps coming up with errors in Itunes when i try any restore now.

When i originally had to jailbreak it i had to install the ipad baseband which is the unlock, then the jailbreak. Then reinstall mobile subtrate im sure thats how i got it to work before.

Im going to try a re-jailbreak tomorrow on works computer as my laptop and desktop both have Comodo with high security settings because im paranoid. Work computer is far less intrusive security wise.

worst thing take it to apple store, I'm sure they will reload the firmware for a small fee.
