Hi Everyone, I am a new member and I have just bought a 2004 E320 with "comand APS" can anyone tell me how to pair my iphone 3G to enable me to use the phone through the car?
thanks in advance, Allen

Allen, you need to enable the bluetooth on your iphone. And then on the comand, you need to search for bluetooth devices. Comand should find your iphone and after typing in a prompted code - it will be authorised.

Hi, when I press Tel it just reads "no phone" when I press Serv there is no soft key "bluetouth" am I doing it wrong, thanks for your quick reply.

Only since MY09> do the headunits and Comand have full bluetooth built in.

You need to check if the car has phone pre-wire or not. If you have phone pre-wire you will have the UHI exchangeable cradle connector in the centre armrest and you can connect any of the cradles on the link below:

If you dont have phone pre-wire it can be retrofitted but it isnt cheap. The official retrofit will still require a cradle. http://www.comandonline.co.uk/Mercedes-Phone-retrofit-kit-MOST-based-cars.html

Or there is an aftermarket option the Fiscon Pro kit which works out cheaper and works exactly the same as MB phone pre-wire but wont require a cradle. http://www.comandonline.co.uk/Fiscon-Pro-Mercedes.html

thanks for your advice, I've just looked in the centre armrest and there is no connection there, does this mean the car has not got the phone pre-wire and if so do I really have to spend £300 plus

is there a plastic cover in the armrest?...if so, it clips off and you connect the BT module or cradle there, If not.....best buy an aftermarket bt system as phone pre-wiring is needed.

Yes if you want factory like integration. Alternative is too upgrade to the MY09> Comand NTG2.5 unit which will give you full bluetooth connectivity but will cost alot more than £300.

Cheaper alternative is a Parrot kit.

Factory like bluetooth integration, that is works with steering wheel controls, instrument cluster and comand, can be fitted for £399 inc VAT!

Far far better than a Parrot.
