I'm thinking of getting part # B67824256 for my clk 55 but I saw that there is a small 3.5m-like connector on the side of inside the glove compartment. There also is 6cd changer inside.

Would it be possible to install that ipod connector inside? and would it support Ipod touch gen 2 (os 3.0) ?

if you have the 3.5mm connector, just get a 3.5mm cable (with both sides 3.5) and use it with your ipod. Less hassle for you ;)

Then you need the pukka MB ipod interface kit.

Available here - cheaper than MB.

Comand Online Ltd :: iPod Kits

replaces the CD changer though - not sure if there is a way to have them together.:dk:

I have one and it is way better than the 3.5mm route.
reasonable control over the ipod - not brilliant , but OK.:thumb:

The genuine Mercedes kit does not replace the CD changer. They can co-exist.

The Dension acts as if it were a Cd changer. The existing CD changer and the Dension can co-exist but only one or the other can be on the MOST bus at any one time. Dension provide a convenient switching mechanism.

I think the car in question is a facelifted one so the genuine kit is all thats needed.

thanks for all, I got the kit and was wondering what the latest model of ipod this kit will charge power to?

if i remember correctly if its a new kit it will charge all of the ipos available

What year is the clk and i will check tomorrow for you

I just fitted B67824254 into a MY09 CLK and it seems to work okay (apart from the telephone keys not working yet).

Did you get the car coded to use the new kit? If you don't have the MB pre-wired phone installed the car needs to be coded with STAR to enable the phone keys

P.S. the keys will only work the iPod not any aftermarket (i.e. non-MB) phone kits

ok, got it installed but it won't charge touch 2g.. that's fine but the problem is that 'search' function doesn't work when connected. Actually, search works but you can't click the song.. I have to unplug the connector, click the song I want to play and put it back on.. is this normal?

of course seaching with ipod, I don't think you can search by steering wheel.
thanks for the link.

If searching doesn't work, there's no point of having a touch as that's the only ipod that has IME support. Help! :D

Richard is this an either/or situation or will the new cable charge ALL ipods not just new ones.

When I find my old iPod i'll let you know !! Pretty sure it will do both, as the 12V is already there, and it must have a 12v->5V converter in it

Cheers

Richard
