Just purchased a Mercedes C180 1996 with two remote controls (single button flip key) and one credit card size emergency key/remote. LED's light up on all three remotes and the keys fit the car but only one works operating the door locks and switching the alarm on and off (indicators flash). The other 2 remotes seem ok the button clicks in and the led lights........Any ideas guys as if the one working remote fails I'm in trouble.
have you tried resetting the other two.? Stick the key in position 2 within 30seconds of aiming the transmitter at the interior mirror and pressing the switch twice in quick succession
No luck but thanks anyway I'll have a look around at other threads.
Sorted!!! I got in the car using the remote that works with the two that didn't unlock the car, and did this (a mixture of other posted ideas) I aimed the useless remote at the mirror receiver (6 inches away) pressed the button and held it down for 5 seconds, I then put the key in the ignition and turned it to position two, the indicators flashed and the car locked (with me in it) but you have 40 secs before the motion detectors kick in. I then removed the key and aimed the now working remote at the receiver and hey presto the car unlocked. The same process also worked for the spare credit card type remote. Thanks guys.
