R129 SL320
The guy who remapped my previous cars said that he couldn't do it.

Are there any specialists who can map the car? Preferably in London or the Midlands. The car is a 1999 facelift model. I know that remaps won't give huge power gains on NA engines, but I do it for the improved drivability.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Raj, I've got a R170 320. I am meeting to discuss this with a local tuners next week. I am sure if they can do my car then the 129 can be done as well (it's the same engine, assume same ecu). I'm not looking for huge power either, rolling road gave me sub 200bhp so wanted to see if I could get it back up to the factory figures.

Without an OBD port which 1999 SL hasn't got the ECU has to be removed from the car and connected directly to a laptop to be remapped, so it is possible.
Gerry of Euro-charged did mine this way on my C43 so it might be worth dropping them a mail there are a couple of official outlets for Eurocharged remaps who are members of this forum, so hopefully they should pick up this thread.

If you're near the Midlands, then try Acid @ MSL performance.

He's a sponsor on here, and also a Eurocharged agent, so should be able to help you. :)

Thanks for the reply, and hopefully they can work out a nice solution to get back to factory figures. Is your one an "ECU out" too? Let me know how it goes!

Does anyone have an idea about cost too?

I doubt there is anything to be gained in remapping this without also performing some other mechanical modifications.

Re-mapping will not really add more power but will make the throttle more responsive and the car will feel more lively.

sounds like a gearbox remap.
