I recently posted to ask why the alarm in my 1999 C220 CDi goes off for about three seconds when the alarm is armed. My dealer suggested the siren was on the way out which I was going to replace. Strangely, the alarm has been working normally since I replaced the (stuck open) engine thermostat! I can only assume this is a coincidence but I am curious if anyone can come up with a reason?
