AMG have clearly gone to some expense for the PPP so I suppose my question is why are the tuners claiming they can reach 500 hp plus just simply from a remap. I understand from reading on here that the initial throttle position is strangled on a c63 but that being the case, should AMG simply not have done that and saved themselves all that engineering! Appreciate Im the newbie here but just wanted someone's opinion on this?

Makes sense but all that cost still doesn't generate anywhere near the gains a remap apparently gives you? Suppose you are then in the realms of oem, warranty etc and I know this is reassurance enough for some. Certainly not knocking it. I spent a silly amount on going oe exhaust when aftermarket was markedly cheaper

The ppp engines rev quicker supposedley and with the uprated internals would be a better base if you are planning any serious mods.....saying that mine is standard and I have no intention of uprating con rods and pistons......

I'm sure the standard non ppp internals are good for a fair few more bhp. After all we used to have cosworths that had 450+ bhp and basically they was a 2.0 pinto lol.

Good info... they are 6.2l though.
Std PPPs often run at more than the quoted 487hp.

PPP is more than just the engine upgrade too.
