Use chrome lock covers on their cars?

The chrome I mean is the shiny cover you see at the top of the door body when you open the door....

Bling is good

But I was wondering if there is an historical reason for the seemingly odd place to chuck in some chrome....

so when the door is open at night, reflection of oncoming cars headlamps is more prominent, thus protecting the car and those near it? ??

Another good point but legally I think the chrome would need to be replaced by red anodized aluminium :)

I am speculating but maybe harks back to a day when the complete actual door lock was mounted in that position and is now largely symbolic/decorative??

grober, I think you are right in that it is a symbol.

A good call to consider that it harks back to a previous manufacturing technique, but I wonder if it has other significance.

Baron... do u know the answer? and if so, please share.. the suspense is killing me lol

Sorry Boss,

But I reckon there has to be a reason that this feature exists.....

And (at the moment) I am in the mood to find out :thumb:
