if it sounds like i know what i'm talking about, trust me, i don't! so all help will be greatly received.
i need to buy a small'ish car to tide me over in Cornwall until we make the full time move there in roughly 2 years time. only needed for short journeys, perhaps 150 miles per month. it has to be an automatic as i can't manage a manual due to problems with my back, so my choice is narrowed down somewhat.
i've spoken to a relative who runs his own garage & he's told advised for my budget of £2,500-£3k max, I should be looking for an early 2000's Corolla, or possibly a Civic (but not with the CVT transmission as they are known for faults when older). i've found a few 2002-2006 cars, for this age will they have the CVT box? what about a Toyota Auris of a similar age?
i know a used car of this age is pot luck & how well it's been maintained etc., i'm just trying to make the best choice i can for what we want to spend.
thanks for any replies
