Hi all,

I hope everyone is well.

Is this a new dust filter?

It had a slight dusty feel when touched, If I put my fingers in the grooves it is not squeeky clean.

Mileage is around 13 miles since fitted.

I am leanning towards it being a new filter.

Kind Regards

It looks pretty well used to me and not what I would expect in 13 miles of use. Have you compared it to a new one from a box?

Don't they have charcoal as an active ingredient, hence the black bits ?

I pulled a 3 year old filter out of my Audi and it was totally black on one side.

Have you checked the manufacture date on the filter ? Usually gives the game away..

HAHAHA, I didn't know it was an active charcoal filter, sorry everyone! Mercedes just call it a dust filter.

I just had a major B.

I have a silly question, where is the engine filter?

What do you mean by engine filter? the air filter or oil filter?

On my other cars that both have Air con, there is an interior cabin filter, engine filter and oil filter.

Also, I took the filter out tonight and just to confirm the fitting should the air flow arrows be pointing towards me?

Kind Regards

I have recently fitted new dust filters (also called pollen filters) to the E430 and they looked exactly like the ones in the photos ... a grey colour.
The ones they replaced were black ... Not because they were particularly-dirty, but black was obviously their original colour.
