is this diesel line ok to fix later?

There is no point trying to start the car with that pipe fitted, unless you cut the pipe and the one below and join them together.

That pipe feeds into the fuel temperature sensor and onto the suction side of the lift pump. The other pipe that feeds into the black box goes to the STOP solenoid.
 
Hi all,

Just to report back, that the car now has a new pipe and it's working as before, albeit with the same tapping/knocking noise.
And it did take an epic amount of cranking, the battery is like a nuclear reactor.
