is this W124 colour std?

on the vin number would it bring up the original paint codes for a car ???
to referance the colours for trim & bodywork

The paint code under the bonnet on ours only gives the code for brilliant silver but each body colour only came with one panel colour (unless the matching paint option was specified).
Incidentally I have an original brochure which lists the colour of the car in the ad as Crystal Green which should have darker green panels.

On the Russian website printout (that you gave me when you sold me the car) it only shows one colour code, 512, but I think you'll agree that the lower panels are a different finish but not necessarily a different colour.

EPC Datacard shows paint code as 256 and originally had beige cloth interior.

yep, that's original stock colour - 256, Crystal green.

How about a 500e in that colour ?

Lovely, one of the best colours ever. Shame i got rid of my crystal green w124 estate !
