what happens if you win a car on ebay, and then the seller says computer was down and has already sold it but not had change to modify listing.

mmmm - dodgy to say the least - not sure there's a lot you can do though as you don't get to leave feedback as you haven't paid for it

You could complain to Ebay though.

His advert says "readvertised due to timewaster". well we know who that is, the seller.

What he really means is he wanted more but it failed to make it so he asked the buyer for more money. The buyer refused so is a timewaster......

I think he probably wanted to pull the auction as it wasn't making enough, but can't now as it's his second time around and ebay would smell a rat.

lol - I'd have rather seen pics of the engine bay and close ups of the body work rather than an out of date first aid kit :D :D

If you've won it in the auction then you're also obliged to buy it. Pity you couldn't have got someone to look at it first. I'd be a bit concerned now as he'd obviously found another buyer but they've pulled out - they may have seen it and changed their mind for very sound reasons. You however now risk negative feedback.

Go and look and pay-up. Unless it's very different to the description you've got. I can't see what other options you've got unless you're happy to take the negative feedback.

Sounds like a fairly obvious excuse.

According to ebay:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html

This states that:
the seller may not: 3. Refuse to accept payment for an item at the end of a successful sale.
and
the seller may not: 1. Fail to deliver an item for which payment was accepted.
Taking those two rules together, the seller would be violating their contractual obligations if they fail to sell to you in my opinion, but please note that I am not a lawyer, so can only offer an opinion.

That being said, do you really want to deal wtih someone demonstrating such rather untrustworthy attitudes?

Oh nooooooo. Paul is this another that is going to grace me? Wish you would have talked to me first (Paul lives just down the road from me) If there is any way you can get out of this one then do so. Carb versions are gutless and do cause problems on cold days (Carb icing up). Run away run away

Prepared to take the forthcoming flack, imenantly inbound

Sorry Ian I'm a bit confused.
Do you mean the seller is down the road, the advert says Scarborough?
And was this car meant to be coming into 124works for some work, if so what?

Purplegoddess to the rescue. Boy! will she make you pay!

A classic, blinded by the looks of the car rather than what matters... :D

There are plenty more bargains to be had...:)

Sorry to be blunt but that car is not worth buying.Wrong spec old bangers have little to no value these days.
