Items for a B Class

Am the proud owner of a B200 CDI SE

Spec'd it up with ALL the bells n whistles apart from SAT/NAV and prewire phone (I use a TOM TOM).

Love the car and it really is a nice drive...trouble is other half now decides she dose not like it!

We may therefor be at a point where we are going to sell....

£32k car with 7k miles on it

Anybody any idea of how much it is worth? was thinking of letting it go for around the 25k mark?

Cheers

Did you actually pay £32K for the car (I've got a £33K C Class, but I only paid £23K for it - at 5 mths old)? I have a horrible feeling you're in for something of a shock.

You could be in for a hell of a shock.

Glass's guide gives a part exchange value for a 2005 '55' B200 CDi SE Auto with 7,000 miles in excellent condition as £18.5k.

appreciate Glass's guide states 18.5k, but as we all know that would be for a standard car!

Mercedes....never spec up their cars and nearly everything is an option!

I dont doubt that I would get £25k for it, have already been offered £23 by a stealer...so there is still more left in it at that price

Cheers

Please list full spec ...... however you will never get the real value back of all the options you have specified .. and there must have been plenty for £32k !!

£23k from a stealer sounds like a good offer ... depressing, I know ! But you can buy a standard B200CDI (SE Spec is standard) for very little more than that !

S.

**EDIT** Gollom (who started this thread!) might be interested in it for the right price !! If he hasn't got one already, of course !

**EDIT EDIT** What exactly is it about it that your wife has decided she doesn't like, just out of interest ?

Glass's Guide prices are the typical prices for a typical car. This means that if a typical B200 CDi has optional extras such as leather, metallic paint etc then it will already be included in the Glass's price.

Further options may or may not add anything to the price of the vehicle. It depends on the option. For example COMAND cost an extra £1,665 to fit new but may only add a few hundred pounds to the value of a used car.

£23k is a very good offer. Most likely the dealer had a customer looking for something similar. I don't think that there will be many people prepared to pay that much as with the current discounts available they could probably by the same car brand new for about £27k.

Hmmmmmmm. Will be outside my price bracket 'methinks <whimper!> I'll ask the question but the Lord High Chancellor (aka. Mrs. Gollom) thinks that paying the mortgage is somewhat more important. I know, I know - some people have no sense of priority do they? :)

Seriously, one of the reasons I want to change to this kind of vehicle is that we have just bought a place in France so guess which direction funds are going at the moment!

Thanks for thinking of me though - you are a good bunch of guys (and gals - or is there only Pammy out there?)

Thanks for all your posts,

Am using the works computer so not got the spec to hand.

Not quite sure why she dose not like it, women eh!

All she says is that she does not like driving it!!

I think it is a very good motor, and although alot different from my TT Roadster prior to arrival of our baby, it does what it is supposed to do very very well

All you B class owners out there already know this though dont you

Cheers

Mercman1969, What on earth did you have extra for 32K.

I collected my new (Factory build) B200 SE CDI last week. It's a six speed manual in Metalic Black. Extra's = Sports Package, Easy-vario System, Seat comfort package, Parktronic, Autodim mirror, Storage package, Elec folding ext mirrors, Interior Light package.
'On the road' it was a tad over 22K (dealer also fitted mud flaps and a dog guard free).

I traded in a Ford C-Max 2.0 Ghia (value 9K) - size wise they are about the same.... Fit, finish, comfort etc the B200 wins hands down.
Can not compare performance until it's got a couple of thousand miles under the wheels but it drives and rides like a dream..

Hang on to yours - you know it makes sense

Welcome to the forum :) .. sounds like a nice car - and a pretty good price - what sort of discount did you manage to get ? Any pictures for us ? :D

S.

sym, thanks for the welcome.

I managed to get £2400 discount, hence could not push trade-in above book price.
I got a starting price via a couple of internet sites and 'spoke' to my local dealer plus one near Oxford - then played 'hard to get'.

I'll try and post a picture or two once the weather improves and I can wash it.
