Anybody read/write Greek? I'd like a couple of lines from Antigones translated back to Greek.

Never fails to amaze me what can be done here !! :D

Thanks folks.

I am greek so I think I can help you. Unless GreekCL beats me to it. It could be that there is only two of us on this forum.

Many thanks, ancient Greek would be best but I,m guessing I'll have to settle for modern. I'l post the lines later. Thanks again.

These are the two lines.

I well believe it, to unwilling ears,
None love the messenger who brings bad news.

Many thanks.

"Hey issa truth innit! You donna wanna listen?
Nobody lika you, you allaways giva bad times matey."

Also works for Italian :)

Here you go. Looks like my mum looked it up ... somewhat easier than figuring out how to type it!!

Many thanks....next question....how to type it!!!!

I think you'll need an ancient Greek font from somewhere. Must be some downloadable ones.

Sheesh, that takes me back...for my sins I studied Ancient Greek at school. Thought I'd forgotten it all until I saw this

Try this. I used the character map , and word to create it.
Struggled with the accents and the s on the end of "oudeis", but it is near enough, you should be able to cut and paste this. It is GreekC font.:)

So Ancient Greek A Level comes in useful again!!!

Πareimi d' akwn ouc ekousin, oid' oti˚
stergei gar oudeis aggelon kakwn epwn.

Any ideas how to get it typed...?

Sorry, all my work was hand-written...this was over 15 years ago!
