So off to the dealer in Boston this morning to collect my C350 CDI 125 Sport Edition Estate.

I have to admit that the dealer had the handover down to a fine art bordering on theater. My wife and I were led into a darkened room with black walls, lots of spot lights and a certain hushed atmosphere to it.

In the middle of the room stood my new car but it was hidden under a black silk sheet until we were ready at which point the sheet was removed to reveal the car all shiny and gleaming under the spots :cool::cool:

Rather cheesy but 10 out of 10 for effort. A proper handover was given with a full run down of what did what and also an introdution to various people in the dealership who I should contact if I need help. I now have several business cards on my desk and I could have sworn that one of the guys referred to himself as IT Support  If I have any problems with any of the gadgets in the car, he is the man to call.

So whilst I have been out in the car today I will reserve judgement until I have a few days at the wheel but so far, things are excellent and I am very happy with the car.

    So the spec:

    It's a C350 CDI 125 Edition Sport Estate.
    Obsidian Black
    Leather (black)
    Black Ash Wood Trim
    Privacy Glass (black of course)
    Reversing Camera
    Heated Seats

Obviously is has all the 125 Edition toys such as nav etc

So here are some pictures. More to come later

Very impressed with the handover and happy to date with the total lack of bulls##t from everybody I have dealt with.

    Only time will tell

    I love those face-lift lights.

At least your dealer made an effort, some have been known to throw the keys at customers and say 'happy motoring'.

    Congratulations Mark, enjoy!

Actually there was one more thing that was part of the deal (and included in the handover).

    Like on my last BMW!

This was the best handover I have seen. Nice flowers for the other half, model car for little Sam (although that was my idea not the dealers). All making everybody involved feel a little bit special.

Of course it takes a bit of effort but my wife has already told all her friends about it so I would say that from the dealers point of view, it's already paid for itself.

    Nice

When I collected my SL from MB in Bremen there was a hint of theatre but not to the extent that you describe......the handover procedure/talk/demonstration was information overload.......and then I simply drove into the streets of Bremen !!!***??? Clueless as to where I was, where I needed to go or how to work the Satnav.......

That would suit me better. The less I have to deal with the idiots, the better.

When I collected my car, I chucked the flowers into the boot and drove off...:D

I still don't like your fuel consumption figure, it's a bit too juicy for me.

It's not going to move until I fill it up later in the week I'm afraid.

But at least the car came with a full tank of fuel without asking. Previous new cars have had a quarter tank if I have been lucky.

Car looks fab, can't wait for mine to arrive now! It will look identical to that.

Out of interest was it a factory order? How long did you have to wait?
