Have a W202 C240. Normally runs really nice however has just started to play around a little. Appears to be using slightly more fuel than usual, although I cant prove it, and perhaps a little down on performance but nothing i can say definatly, no hesitation, flatspots etc.

It has started however when creeping forward in traffic on idle, on occasions become a little jerky, this is usually after a short spell of faster driving.

Plugs were renewed 10k miles ago,(Its a twin spark engine) service indicator says service due in 2,200 miles. Anyone any ideas please?

This is same as my car see a few posts down have you run a diagnostic mine reads no 5 cylinder coil that was changed lambda was changed but reading still to low 200mv should be up to 700mv may not be MAF mine reads OK on scan.
Will let you know if or when I get to the bottom of it
Regards Ron

Dont buy cheapo ebay MAF's, go with the original or if thats too expensive go to euro car parts and make sure u get a Bosch unit.

Why not have it serviced forst before changing things.

It could be something else.

Update

Its cured itself! jerkyness has gone when creeping at idle, power seems back to normal, all i can put it down to is a crap tank of fuel which took a while to work itself through the system.

Hi
It is something we normally ignore. But, how can we check the fuel before we put it in the tank.
Perhaps we should fill a sample bottle every time we fill at the Tescos of the world.
