Queuing for pre-vat sausage rolls?

I urge the pasty buying public not to panic. There is no likelihood of an imminent pasty shortage and even if there was all you would have to do is to nip down to your local Greggs and buy say two months supply and pop them in the deep freeze- or better still get your butler to do it on his day off. You could probably also write it off as a legitimate business expense on your next tax return if you have a decent accountant.

You gotta love photoshop! It's the slimmest looking queue I've ever seen for Greggs!

Queuing for pre-vat sausage rolls?

Spotted this in the window of the Chinese takeaway in Chipping Norton earlier this week:

vatcn.jpg

What can they be referring to? Way too soon to be the VAT on hot food. Doesn't look like it's been there since the general increase in VAT from 17.5% to 20%. And in any case, how can everything they sell just go up by 20p as a result?

"ahhh dis stupid english don know maths anyway" in my best chinese accent
