Evening all, after 3 years with the most amazing, barking mad, fantastic car, my SLK55 AMG is going tomorrow. I really couldn't find a replacement that came anywhere near (without spending very silly money) so I decided to go down the 4x4 route. I tried the full fat Range Rover and good as it was it drove like a very BIG car so it wasn't for me. After searching tinternet I came across you guys and discovered the ML420. A dealer not too far away had a very nice used one in stock with a great spec (air suspension, comand, Harmon Kardon, Sunroof etc etc) so a short test drive later and a bit of bartering and the deal was done.

I'm sure I'll miss the SLK, especially coming into summer, but I'm looking forward to a very fast and comfortable 4x4! Apart from the plastic leather - why oh why don't Mercedes trim it with some dead cow skin? It's hardly an eco friendly car! :)

congrats and welcome.

well done on the change.. slks are awesome, and the 55 is terrific..

we have an slk200 and an slk55.. both of which are excellent.. the 200 is showings its age now, as it was one of the first few in the country, which we bought back then, but the new 55 is incredibly refined.. holds the road like no other, i fear once in a 4x4, you will miss the roller coaster handling

Welcome, and you're only just finding us now? :D

Love SLK55s, such a mental concept and proof of the German sense of humour. Look forward to reading about your new V8 :thumb:

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forum. :thumb:

Post some pics when you can. :)
