Thank god for W setting and switching off ESP is all I can say - what a nightmare:eek: was fun though.

All came out of the blue - quite literally:D We had no snow forecast at all. Left Leeds where there had been a flurry - hits Harrogate and it's thick blizzards and chaos:rock:

Nice to see your car control was so good that you could take one hand from the wheel and at least on eye from the road to take the photo, Pammy!;)

Send some this way... bright & sunny here not a cloud in the sky.. YET!

Oh yes;) oh and just in case you were wondering - I was actually stationery at this point!!!

I should say this was the best of it. Part of the journey was too bad to do anything other than two hands, 10 mph and loads of gap in front etc.

I've got the roasting tray ready :)

So did you have the top down then? :D

ESP off sounds the opposite of what you'd want, but I guess it interferes to the point where you can hardly move ... when it's really slippy??

Well done is all I can say. Have abandoned my car in less as it would only go sideways pivoting from the front wheels!

Top down - erm no - had been my hope for today as it should have been like it has for the past couple of days - very cold but beautifully clear and bright:D

Yeah - the ESP went off when I was losing grip

Yup it's been gorgeous here, bobble hat brigade out in force (in their MGs)!

My R129 only has ASR so might be the perfect car for arctic conditions? ;)

On second thoughts maybe I'll leave it snug under its cover and take the 4WD Sharan instead - with a finger poised over the ESP switch!

Well done Pammy! I'm with Graham though. My car is so bad in snow I just put it away at the slightest hint of snow!

Been snowing here in Wigan for about 20 mins but it really is coming down!
Just got the smarty back in the drive before it started

Thanks for that G n G;)

Must admit - it is the worst drive I have ever had in Edna. She was not happy at all hence going very very slowly indeed - but to be fair so was everyone else. Only saw one guy being a twit:mad:

My main objective is to try and keep moving no matter how slowly and then it's usually OK. But had to stop today so just left loads of distance, used the W setting and only very gentle accelleration, but made sure I stayed well away from the kerb edge of the road to and hey presto - home in one piece. Phew!:D

pammy, did you get your rust sorted yet?

nope - been too busy. It's on the list of to do things:o

Ho hum, ho hum here in the gorgeous south west we have the usual clear blue skies.

Seriously though I miss the snow and seeing children having fun making snowman and having snowball fights. Do you think it will stick around for a couple of days?

Take care and be careful, icy roads and wide low profile tyres are not good bed fellows.

John

Well done chuck, glad both of you got back safely in one piece :bannana: :bannana:

And I have to drive to Coventry ish at 5am tomorrow, hope the weather is kind. Going in the 260 so if anyone wants to run into me its ok, could do with a nice insurance claim :o
