I've just driven home in this.......

It's lovely here in Surrey - evenings getting brighter - roof off soon :bannana:

Well done chuck, glad both of you got back safely in one piece :bannana: :bannana:

And I have to drive to Coventry ish at 5am tomorrow, hope the weather is kind. Going in the 260 so if anyone wants to run into me its ok, could do with a nice insurance claim :o

Coventry was lovely today. Started off sub-zero, but beautiful blue skies and that. Quite mild by the afternoon, too.

I was going to ask if you're doing anything interesting in Coventry, but then I realised.... stoopid question. Can't be done.

Planning to be bright + sunny into next week. No snow @ all here. Maybe we will all be pleasantly surprised... Interesting the way ESP must be off! Suppose there's nothing better than total manual control.

Send some this way Pammy. Only clear blue skys here. Although driving to Scotland tomorrow so wonder what its like up there.

Only problem is going up in a Mondeo  Has to be the worst car I have driven. Can see why they are popular with reps but they are horrid things.

I need some snow to see how the 43 handles although judging how it is on a damp road Im guessing the only safe place would for it to be parked up in snow like that.

Our snow's almost all gone Shaun. The roads are dry and clear. Been lovely and sunny all day which has melted a lot of it.:(

Still - took the dogs out in the fields earlier and they had a (snow) ball :D

I would imagine the 43 will not be very good - sommat to do with all that power at the rear end:devil:

Top girl Pammy. The last time we had snow down here my missus was in her smart car on her own. Quite a few smart's had been abandoned at the side of the road. It was the first time she had ever driven in the snow and wouldn't give up. She kept her foot buried on the accelerator letting the traction control try and sort it all out slewing all over the road, cars panicked coming the other way and stopped at what looked like an out of control smart car veering all over her side of the road (it was two lanes). But she manage to make it home and in one piece.
Come on admit it Pammy I bet you were steering with your knees whilst taking the picture :)

Now you know that isn't true - anything below 10mph and automatically the make-up / mug of tea / toast comes out of the handbag on the passenger seat :D

Dare I suggest the use of high silica/ Low temp rubber compound tyres/snow tread tyres say Nov-April. Even just on the rear can transform the handling/traction. You can get them V and even W rated now. see http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=21847 The all weather tyres Nokian WR or Vredestein Wintrac or Michelin Snowsport will transform your car in winter honest.

so thats how you park them,, i often wondered,,

seen one on it's roof last year,, no other car's involved,, just a bit of rain,, are they just inherently unstable,,

Thats Jim Rogers "GLK" if I'm not mistaken. A "one off " special that was built in California by a company called metalcrafters of a SLK body grafted on to a G wagen chassis. It also had a matching streamlined trailer in yellow. He used on a 3 year round the world trip. see www.jimrogers.com which all goes to prove if you have the determination and money anythings possible.;)
