Ivory Heater Dials W202

I bought these to fit to my car w124 and I thought they would fit as the chrome heater rings are kinda universal,Nope they dont fit Offers please.Ps borrowed this pic from Koolvins post but they're exactly the same.

Are they modifi-able in your opinion to get them on , or is it an absolute no no ?

Well actually I think they may well be,as the original dials uscrew from behind the wood pannel. Mmm interesting.Watch this space.I may have been premature in my offer. Thanks for the insperation Howard. It is doable but the W124 heater knobs are the same circumference as the inside of the dial I wonder if w202 knobs fit the w124 I think they might need to move this post.No it's definately not going to work.
